BEFORE YOU BEGIN: A few things to remember.  Surfaces must always be kept free of dirt and grit, or floors can be damaged.  If used outside, never reuse inside.  Newly finished wood floors must be totally dry (usually 3 – 4 months) before using.  It’s a good idea to check with your floor manufacturer before using.

Self-Adhesive Sliders

Self-adhesive sliders work great with chairs and larger pieces of furniture, like this sofa.

  1. Choose the sliders shape and size that best matches the feet, or base, of your furniture.
  2. Measure the foot across the widest part of its footprint.
  3. Next, find the Magic Slider size that best matches the feet, or base, of your furniture.
  4. Make sure the surface where the slider will be affixed is clean and dry.
  5. Now simply peel back the cover, align the slider, and press firmly in place. Apply pressure for a couple of seconds.
  6. You'll see how the self-adhesive sliders are basically invisible, disappearing, while allowing the sofa to slide with ease.

Reusable Sliders

Magic Sliders are also available in a reusable version, offering the ability to install the slider without upending the furniture. This is very handy for heavy items like this fully-loaded shelving unit.

  1. Choose the slider shape and size that best matches the base of your furniture.
  2. For large items like this, you might need some help from a friend.
  3. To install, lift up the corner of the furniture a few inches
  4. Push the slider into position, then lower the corner gently. It's that simple!

  1. Choose the slider size that best matches the base of your furniture.
  2. You may want some help from a friend to lift heavier furniture.
  3. To install, lift the corner high enough that you can position the slider underneath.
  4. Push or stretch the flexible black cup securely around the leg's base.
  5. All done!

Nail-In Sliders

Nail-In sliders should only be used on furniture or chairs with hardwood legs. These sliders deliver a very long-lasting installation, which is why you'll need a drill and hammer.

  1. Measure the diameter of the leg's base making sure you're measuring across the widest part of the base.
  2. Choose the slider shape and size that best matches the base of your furniture.
  3. Nail-In sliders come packaged with a safety tip over each nail. Carefully remove before installing.
  4. Drill a small pilot hole in the center of the leg's base. Select a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the width of the nail.
  5. Position the nail tip in the opening of the pilot hole and hammer into place.
  6. That's it! The Nail-In sliders mesh beautifully with the legs and now your chair or stool will slide with ease!

Screw-In Sliders

Like Nail-In sliders, Screw-In sliders should only be used on furniture or chairs with hardwood legs. For this installation, you'll again need a drill plus a screwdriver.

  1. Measure the width of the leg's base making sure you're measuring across the widest part of the base.
  2. Choose the slider shape and size that best matches the base of your furniture.
  3. Make a guide mark for the pilot hole in the center of the leg's base. Use the slider as a template to easily mark the exact center of the leg.
  4. Select a drill bit that is slightly smaller in diameter than the width of the screw and drill a small pilot hole.
  5. Next, position the tip in the opening of the pilot hole and screw the slider into place.
  6. All done! Screw-In Magic Sliders provide superior hold and, like all Magic Sliders, slide smoothly across all flooring types.
